The corruption rate in the Czech Republic: Government's political solutions in 2010-2017

The bachelor thesis "The corruption rate in the Czech Republic: Government's political solutions in 2010-2017" deals with anti-corruption policy at the governmental level. The first part pays attention to corruption from a theoretical point of view. The analytical part focuses on the activities of governments in the fight against corruption as well as on the development of Corruption Perception Index (CPI) in the monitored period. During years 2010-2017 there were four governments in the Czech Republic, including two caretaker ones. Jan Fischer's government did not explicitly determine anti-corruption policy objectives, so they acted according to current need. Caretaker government of Jiří Rusnok acted similarly, because in addition this cabinet lost vote of confidence in the Chamber of Deputies. In contrast to it, the government of Petr Nečas called itself "A Coalition of Budgetary Responsibility, the Rule of Law and the Fight against Corruption". Corruption has been one of the main topics of the Coalition Agreement and the Government's Program Statement, on which were based two anti- corruption strategies. Analysis of the effectiveness of selected health policy measures of individual governments of the Czech Republic in the period 2005-2016

The aim of this thesis is to analyse effectivity of the selected measures of health policy of the individual governments of the Czech Republic in the period 2005-2016. Special attention is paid to Policy Statements of the Government of the Czech Republic in the field of healthcare, and to comparison of these statements with subsequent government measures. The theoretical part deals with the general theory of the health policy and its influence on the economy. Furthermore, there is outlined the historical development of the health policy since its inception to implementation of the health policy in the Czech Republic. The practical part first analyses the individual program statements of the Governments and examines the subsequent measures. Then it is focused on the selected national economic indicators, such as healthcare spending and their structure or founding, and their development, which compares with the governmental measures in the given years. Finally, the work summarizes the findings and evaluate the benefits or pitfalls of various measures of health policy. This topic is very timely given the current development of the health policy in the Czech Republic.
Constitutional conventions in the Czech Republic

This diploma thesis focuses on constitutional conventions in the Czech Republic. Its aim is to analyze their role in the Czech constitutional system. The work focuses on five areas where the influence of constitutional customs is often spoken. Priority is given to exploring the places where several constitutional institutions are interwoven because it is precisely on them that the power of constitutional conventions is best documented. It focuses in particular on how the practices have been observed in the past and how other constitutional actors have responded. The thesis examines the influence of introducing the direct election of the president to constitutional conventions. A directly elected president may feel more legitimate, and in order to gain a stronger position for himself, he may tend to violate some constitutional conventions or try to introduce new ones. As a result, the finding that the Czech constitution is still a relatively new document and that there was not enough time to fully establish most of the constitutional conventions. However, some constitutional conventions are already becoming an integral part of the constitutional order, whose strength will be decided by the following years. Conflict over competences after introduction of direct election of the president in the Czech Republic

This bachelor thesis is concerned with question of competence in the Czech republic between president and others state constitutional authorities after the introduction of direct presidential election and after electing Miloš Zeman as president. The thesis examines the parts of the Constitution where there is the possibility of occurrence of question of competence or where there are different interpretations. The main aim is to describe and analyze question of competence between Miloš Zeman and others constitutional authorities. Based on these disputes, this bachelor thesis offers modifications of the Constitution of the Czech Republic which could prevent similar disputes. The result of bachelor thesis is appreciation whether introduction of direct elections had an impact on the incidence of question of competence or it is associated with Miloš Zeman.
